The dark, dank cave echoed with drops of water mixed with oncoming footsteps. The stalactites seem to form pillars along the sides as they reached down, meeting their stalagmite partners. Cold winds howled along the long winding corridor like tunnel as a lone figure slowly walked along, move closer to the arcane wooden door, lit by two massive torches on both sides of it.
Shardstorm was not looking forward to what was to come. Her breath blew cold as it mixed in with the heat of torches. It was very hard to breath, making her wonder if she had a broken rib or two. Then again  if that was all that was injured on her after being pressed between a dumpster and a brick wall, she would consider herself lucky. How could she have let the target escape? It was all Anna's fault. If she had not been playing around and had just shot the girl, they would have been back and she would not be injured, and Anna would not be in the cave that was the infirmary. She knew Mortanya didn't like excuses, so there was no point in blaming everything on Anna. She was in charge at the time. She should have stopped her from exciting their prey.
She  moved her hand forward to knock against one of the iron bars of the wooden door. As her hand came to rasp against it, the door slowly moved open, as if on instinct. She took another deep breath, this time ice crystals shot out, melting as they neared the heat of the fires. Moving forward she entered into the chamber, feeling the doors close behind her as she made her way to the torch lit room.
The throne room was not all that impressive. There were a few decorative tapestries  along the wall, each depicting a scene from medieval times. Her eyes scanned them before coming to rest on the bright red rug in front of her. Torches  all along the sides and ceiling lit the room very well, letting the vibrant  tapestries and rugs colors shine in the gloomy looking cave walls. In front of her stood the throne, elevated on a platform, a maroon awning shadowing  the brightness the torches gave off. It had a couple of decorative doors, one on each side of the platform, linking to other tunnels and corridors. She could feel a pair of eyes upon her as she moved forward, leaning down before the first step, moving onto one knee. She was her way of showing respect to the leader of the Influx, the one who had sent her on the mission.
"What happened?" came the sweet, almost seductive sounding voice from the shadows, two bright blue eyes appearing from the darkness.
Shardstorm looked up trying to not meet the glaring eyes. "I'm afraid that the S.O.S intervened. Kattaclism and Grace took us by surprise. It didn't help that the new girl also decided to infuriate the girl before shooting at her. It took away precious seconds we had."
There was a long silence as the eyes seem to look to both sides of the throne, A pair of long slender legs clad in black, thigh high stiletto boots soon came into view as if someone was stretching them. Suddenly the voice returned, lightly brushing against the walls as it echoed
"I see, and you managed to escape with Anna Stetic  or did you leave her there?"
"Grace managed to sneak up behind us while Katticlism had our attentions , standing between us and the target. She used her telekinesis to pin us against the wall with a dumpster. I was able to flash freeze it and force hurl it at Katt. As predicted, her first instinct was to strike at it. While it shattered, Grace  was able to stop the shards, and that's when I was able to fly us out of there. Anna is in the infirmary , still unconscious. I am not sure what the extent of her injuries are, but I know she should live."
"You seemed a bit worse for wear yourself."
" I'm afraid I have a couple of broken ribs. Nothing I can't handle." Shardstorm quipped back confidently
Shardstorm soon heard a small rustle, the boots pulled back in as the eyes moved up. Slowly out of the darkness came a very beautiful, scantily clad woman. Her skin was ivory white, contrasting vastly with her dark  raven hair, flowing along her shoulders, cascading down to a pair of ragged black wings that jutted from her shoulder blades. From out of her dark hair sprouted another pair of brown bat-like wings that seem to twitch every now and then. Thigh high boots reached tightly along her seductive legs, moving nearly all along her legs to her purple bikini bottom that wrapped snugly around her heart shaped hips. Shardstorm's pale eyes continue to move along her scantily clad body, only a  little bit of purple fabric that draped over her very large bust line. Her hips slowly  rocked bewitchingly  as she made her way down the steps, her breasts swayed back and forth in step with her walk . As she moved to the bottom step, she reached out, her black satin glove brushing along the bowing woman's chin, lifting up her face to have her deep blue eyes locking onto Shardstorm's.
"You did well, My dear," she said in a sensual voice.
Shardstorm's looked very bewildered as these words fell on her ears. She had expected to hear the blood curdled shrieks that Mortanya was known for when she was angry. How could she be so calm?
"You are not angry with me, Madame?" Shardstorm questioned, expecting any moment for the shrill words to rattle inside her ears.
"I am disappointing that the target was not apprehended, but I am glad you put your differences aside and brought Anna back. You could have easily left her there for the S.O.S to capture her. Right now you know that we need everyone if we are going to finally triumph over them. Besides we know have a better idea where the girl is. It will be easier to find her now." Mortanya began to laugh, it echoing all along the cavern.
Shardstorm also chuckled a bit, her expression still one of shock. Mortanya didn't seem to notice as she moved her her gloved hand away from the  freezing cheek of the icy woman.
"Now go down to the infirmary and wait for Roschel to get down there. She will tend to your wounds and you both will be better in no time."
"I shall," Shardstorm  smiled a bit as she stood up, turning her back on Mortanya as she made her way to the large wooden door. As the doors opened to let her out, Mortanya suddenly shouted at her."Hey"
She turned expecting to be yelled at. She was a proud woman, but knew when something had gone wrong, especially considering she was the one in charge of the operation. She turned her head a little, one eye looking back at the figure as it ascended the steps.
"No need to be so formal. After all, we are all friends here."
"Yes , Mad.. Mortanya" Shardstorm said as she made her way out of the doors, not looking back as the heavy doors latched together with a loud creak.
Mortanya returned to her large throne, placing her back against the cool metal, her wings remaining stretched out. Her hands came to rest on the armrest that were shaped like a pair of Chinese dragons, blowing fire, their serpentine bodies meandering upward along the outskirts of the thrones back, tails intertwining at the top. She  reached over to her left pulling a small rope, a bell rang with a dull tone. She lounged about  as the doors to her sides moved open. A figure emerged from the darkness of each door, moving closer into the light, making their way to the bottom of the platform.
From the left came a woman of African descent, her dread-locked hair wrapped up with a large white bandana. She was dressed in a dark blue corset, a long flowing skirt of the same kind adorned her waist, small  black patterns of spiders, snakes, and bats running up and down it. Her neck was adorned with a necklace made of an assortment of bones and claws from various beast, a small belt ran around her waist where the corset and skirt met, clamped together with a metal skull. In her hand she carried a long wooden staff that snaked along, adorned with various feathers, bones, and beads, as well as a bleached human skull at the top, its empty eyes almost peering deeply into the torchlit room. She stood  in front of the platform, her hand on her hip, looking impatient as the other figured moved parallel to her.
The second figure had a humanoid look, but was clearly not a human. It dark red skin  shone in the torchlight, her hands ending with small sharp claws. Her head had short black hair, a pair of horns  along her temples curved backwards, intertwining  at the back of her head, forming a strange semi-circle.  She seemed to have a black shawl draped over her chest covering most of her body. Her bare midriff was soon moved to a pair of tight leather pants, wrapped in a red, triangle ended belt. Orange flames come up from the bottom of the cuff as yellow lightning came from the waist downward, striking  at the base of the knees. Black stiletto boots made sharp echos on the cavern walls as she moved beside the black woman already present. the Yellow eyes seem to spark as she smiled, 4 large canine teeth gleamed in the bright fires light.
Mortanya looked down at them, her body slowly slumping into throne, her legs coming up to hang over one of the arms. The black woman looked about, becoming aggitated before yelling out in a loud, Cajun heavy voice
"So, where  is the girl?"
Mortanya seemed to mirthly look at her fingers. twirling them as she said in a chuckling voice.
"They failed to capture her. She is now in the custody of S.O.S."
"Fils de pute!" cursed the woman. "Why did you send the rookie out there. We should have never broke her out in Leavenworth. She is not worth one bullet in that gun of hers! I say we kill her and be done with it!"
Mortanya's bat ears seem to twitch as she hummed a merry tune looking down at the woman as she cursed in Cajun French
"Roschel, must you be so vile. I knew they would not succeed, but that is all part of the plan. You must be patient."
"The Delacroix's have never been one's for patience. We need to get that girl at once so we can perform the ritual. If we don't get her we will never accomplish the plan. And why are you so happy after they failed?"Roschel said, stamping her staff on the cave floor, the tapestries and flames suddenly moved as if a gust of wind had moved them.
"Isn't it obvious," came the voice from the red creature, muffled by the large canines. Her eyes moved from Roschel to look up at almost absent minded Mortanya. "How many did you have? Three? Four?"
"Five this evening, dear Speed Demoness. They were all handsome men, almost a shame I had to devour such lovely souls, but they were so damn delicious." Mortanya continues as a hand moved over her barely covered breasts
"Let me get this straight," Roschel interjected. "The most crucial part of the plan  was in our grasp tonight and you let the new girl and Shardstorm go on it so you could get laid!!!"
"She is almost akin to a succubus, Roschel. She gets her power from the souls of men, and you know the easiest way to get a hold of that energy is through sex.C'mon it is basic elementary." Speed Demoness chuckled.
"Besides since I didn't drain them fully, they are none the wiser. If I am to get enough power to preform this ritual, then I will need the souls of many, many men, If I try to take them out at once, it will draw unnecessary attention to us. If that happens, S.O.S will hunt us down. At our current state, we would not last a huge fight with them." Mortanya said as her hand rubbed along her body. "Besides the pay is good"
Roschel continued to sneer as Mortanya hand massaged along her body. Speed Demoness watched and chuckled, as if waiting for something to happen. Mortanya stopped , her eyes locking with Roschel's angry hazel eyes. She smirked a bit as she continued.
"With S.O.S  having the girl, we know where she is at. By now they have found out she has the Gate Gene, so they will most likely begin training her. With her power opened up fully, we won't have to forcefully siphon it all away. It will be there for the taking."
"You make it sound so easy. What's to say that she will not become strong enough to take us on?"
"If you knew the plan, then you would understand why we have Anna Stetic, who by the way is waiting for you to heal her and Shard. See that they are taken care of." Mortanya said, snapping her fingers
Roschel glared at the cocky succubus, like she wanted to do nothing more and  punch her in the face. Slowly she turned, making her way to the large front door that opened as she approached.
"Very well," she said through gritted teeth.
The door soon closed as she passed by. making her way to the cave. Mortanya looked at Speed Demoness before both of them began laughing.
"I swear you love  tormenting that poor woman." Speed Demoness chuckled
"It's is too easy. She is too uptight." Mortanya giggled before she composed herself. standing up out of the throne. Her tones quickly switched to a serious one. "However we do need to take out a bit of the power of the Sister's. Shard is no slouch, and neither is Anna. We need to make the odds more in our favor."
"How do we do that? We can't take them head on. We would be soundly defeated." Speed Demoness said, her clawed hand resting under her chin
"I am wondering just how powerful we must be to make this spell work. I would love to have a trial ru..." Mortanya stopped, her smile returned as she began to laugh as if possessed.
The little demon looked up, her shawl unraveling  becoming a pair of black, bat-like wings, a small sports bra the only thing covering her chest. "You have a plan?" She inquired.
"I know how we can test the spell out AND help hinder the S.O.S in one fell swoop. Oh its perfect, but it will take sometime to get ready. I still don't have enough power to execute that much. For now We will let them train the girl. She will soon be ready for plucking." Mortanya chuckled evilly as her wings  stretched open. She swooped off the perch, continuing to laugh as she flew about the cave like a hungry bat, wings fluttering like crazy before she neared the middle of the room, shooting upward  into a small crevice in the caverns ceiling, hidden by the shadows that the flames could not light up. Speed Demoness watched as Mortanya disappeared, chuckling, looking down at her hand, small sparks jumping between her fingers as she said to herself
"Things around here are about to get..electrifying!"
